My philosophy is to provide a loving, caring, and safe environment for every child to develop to their full potential, physically, mentally, academically and socially in an atmosphere they feel loved and safe. My goal is to build a solid foundation for every child and respecting each individual child's self growth.

When children are between the ages of 3 and 6, that is when the brain is still developing.  This is the time the brain absorbs everything around them in the environment, like a sponge.  This period is called "the absorbent mind", they are most receptive to learning and absorb the most!  This is this perfect time for children to explore, learn and grow their beautiful minds. I have been teaching for 35 years and opened Sunflower Montessori 27 years ago because teaching children is my passion. It is so rewarding to see my children learn, succeed and flourish into their full potential with the love and care the Sunflower team provides.

I encourage parents to visit the school in person to get a stronger understanding of what we do and how we do it. This also provides an opportunity to view the facility, ask any questions, and observe a class in session. It is important that when you come to the school you bring your child with you, as this is a big step for your child and you want to ensure they are part of it! This also often helps children feel more comfortable on their first day when parents leave and they begin their Sunflower journey, as a seed that with our love and support will grow to their full potential.
